Encourage children to garden
Many horticultural societies have programs for children. If children are in your home, contact a nearby horticultural society for their version of developing future gardeners.

Treasures for Your Pleasure

Your Garden Coach comes across inspiring shops, workshops or organizations that help us develop as gardeners and individuals. We invite you to visit the following. We think you will enjoy the journey.

St. Elmo’s Fire

Ferguson Forestry Station - http://www.seedlingnursery.com/about/our-history/
Not for the faint of heart, this nursery grows only native trees. Part way between Kemptville and Merrickville. I’ve given little seedlings as party favours… how non-caloric instead of candy!

275 County Road 44 RR 4
Kemptville, ON
K0G 1J0
(613) 258-0110

http://www.rideauwoodlandramble.com/ - Worth the drive, this shade nursery invites visitors to walk the forest paths that showcase some of its plants and garden art. Last I visited, the garden art was not for sale – let’s hope that changes at some point because the owners have fabulous taste. Check out the pond area.
